김명훈 교수는 2007년부터 현재까지 전북대학교 물리학과 교수로 재직 중이다. 2012년부터 현재까지 전북대학교 광전자정보기술 연구소 소장을 맡고 있다. 2006년부터 2007년까지 독일 막스플랑크 고체 물리학 연구소에서 연구원으로 활동했으며, 2017년에는 프랑스 Ecole Centrale Paris CNRS 객원연구원이었다.1998년 서울대학교를 졸업하고 2004년 서울대학교 대학원에서 학위를 받았다.
Professor Kim Myung-Whun has been a professor at the department of Physics, Chonbuk University since 2007. He has been the director of Institute of Photinics and Information Technology (IPIT) since 2012. From 2006 to 2007, he was a researcher at the Max Planck Institute in Germany and he was a visiting researcher at CNRS, Ecole Centrale Paris, France in 2017. He graduated from Seoul National University in 1998 and received his Ph.D. from Seoul National University in 2004.
